Kazuo TOI, professor of National Institute of Fusion Science (NIFS), Japan, has been a friend of ASIPP for 30 years. He firstly contacted us in 1987 and visited us in 1991. So far he has joined the collaborative work on HT-6M, EAST, CFETR … and has been an important member of JSPS-CAS Core University Program on Plasma and Nuclear Fusion (CUP) and China-Japan-Korea A3 Foresight Program.
This is my first visit to ASIPP as an participant of the IAEA TCM on Research Using Small Tokamaks hosted by ASIPP, 3-8 Oct., 1991. Prof. Y. Huo guided the conference participants to the tokamak and other key facilities of ASIPP. [taken at HT-6M tokamak hall on 4 Oct., 1991]
I joined HT-6M experiment to study effects of an inserted boron target. We can find young Jiangang LI, Xiang GAO, Jarong LUO, Xianzu Gong and others. [taken at the HT-6M control room on June 1994]
This is my first contact with ASIPP. When I stayed in IPP Garching for ASDEX experiments in 1987, I occasionally met Prof. Peide WENG who were executing collaborating researches there. At that time, I knew IPP in China (ASIPP), and I belonged to IPP in Japan (Nagoya University). [ taken at the entrance of an apartment of Max Planck str. on June 1987 ]
This is a picture of excursion to Mt. Fuji of international collaborators of NIFS . Jiangang LI joined the event together with American and Russian researchers, NIFS and graduate students of Nagoya University. [ taken at the Mt. Fuji 6th station on Aug., 1995]
X. Gao and M. Yuedong at the JIPP T-IIU tokamak hall, Dec., 1994.
JSPS-CAS Core University Program on Plasma and Nuclear Fusion (CUP) was going on from 2001 to 2010. ASIPP and NIFS were among the core universitites. Important collaborative researches were successfully done by many staffs in both institutes with support of the CUP. In particular, young researches including phd. students in both institutes also had a chance to join the collaborative researches. The summary seminar was organized for the summary of CUP and future expansion, at Okinawa, on 9-11 March, 2011.
A very active person coming from ASIPP, Xiaodi DU made an important contribution to LHD experiments, as a student of the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, in NIFS, Japan.[taken at LHD torus hall on Feb., 2011 ]
