Study of mechanical engineering at Technical University of Munich.

Working experience: 1 year at BMW company, since 1986 working for the NBI-group at IPP Garching for development and operation of the positive NBI at ASDEX Upgrade and Wendelstein 7-X and the negative ion source development.

Chief engineer, NBI group leader since 2011, retired 2024.

报告简介：

The talk gives a short introduction of the design of the positive NBI systems operating on ASDEX Upgrade and Wendelstein 7-X and will present the design of an ion source with a variable extraction gap, which enables to increase the plasma heating flexibility of NBI systems. First results will be presented.
