报告简介:The effects of negative triangularity (NT) on boundary plasma turbulence are investigated using global, nonlinear, three-dimensional, flux-driven two-fluid simulations. NT plasmas exhibit a strong suppression of interchange-driveninstabilities,leading to enhanced confinement and significantly reduced fluctuation levels compared to positive triangularity (PT) plasmas. This stabilization isattributedto the weakening of curvature drive in the unfavorable region, caused by the stretchingof magnetic field lines near the outer midplane. Complementarygyrokinetic simulations further indicate that, although NT is beneficial for mitigating boundary turbulence, it may be less favorable for heavy-impurity control, particularly for high-Z species such as tungsten. In this talk, these results and their implications for NT operation in future devices will be discussed.

His research focuses on plasma turbulence using advanced numerical tools, includingfluid and gyrokinetic codes such as GBS and GYSELA. Before joining NTU, he was a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL in Switzerland, where he worked in the boundary theory group.
