报告标题:Turbulence and its nonlinear cross-correlation analyses

  时间:7月11日(周四)上午9:00-11:00

  报告内容简介:

Turbulence in tokamaks and other magnetic confinement fusion devices strongly affects confinement. The complexity of turbulence is characterized by the broad band features in both temporal and spatial domains. In this talk, characteristics of turbulence during the ohmic H-mode like discharges in the STOR-M tokamak, induced by biasing and other means, will be reviewed. However, the focus of the talk is on the techniques of nonlinear cross-correlation of two turbulence signals, measured at two spatial locations, to reveal the propagation direction of the turbulence energy. The confirmation of its capability based on the time series of two nonlinearly coupled Van der Pol oscillators will be presented and discussed. Examples of experimental results from the STOR-M tokamak and TJ-II stellarator, based on the Langmuir probe measurements, will be presented.
